The objective of this tutorial is to help you understand how to set an open slot shift.
Setting open slots allows your staff to self-schedule themselves until the available slots are filled.
Things to know before you begin:
- You must have a manager/admin, supervisor and scheduler access privileges to set an open slot shift.
- You can set an open slot under position view only.
- You can navigate the schedule to different dates by clicking the arrows found at top mid of the app.
Set an Open Slot Shift
Step 1: Click ‘ShiftPlanning’ tab from the top panel as shown in Image 1.
Step 2: Select ‘Position View’ as shown in Image 2.
Step 3: Click ‘Schedule Overview’ from the left-hand side filter panel as shown in Image 3.
Step 4: Create a shift or click on an existing desired shift, click to open the shift edit window as shown in Image 4.
Step 5: Click ‘Set Open Slots’ to create an open shift for your staff as shown in Image 5.
Step 6: Select a number of open slots from the drop-down and it will let you set the number of required employees on that shift as shown in Image 6.
Note: The maximum number will be the total number of employees for that specific position.
Step 7: Click ‘<<Back to Shift’ to save the number of required employees on that shift as shown in Image 7.
Step 8: Click ‘Save & Close’ and an open shift will be created as shown in Image 8.
The eligible staff won’t be able to see the shift or be notified until you ‘Publish’ the shift individually or ‘Publish’ the schedule.
