Troubleshooting for Work Units

Overview

If you are having trouble using work units functionalities, follow the steps in this article to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Objective

The objective of this tutorial is to show you how you can ask your Manager or resolve the possible issues you could face using work units.

Things to know before you begin:

  1. You must have a manager or admin access privileges to perform some troubleshooting steps in this article.
  2. If you have Supervisor, Scheduler or an Employee level access, you’ll have to ask for help from your Manager when you get to those steps.

“Can’t view work units tab”

Possible Cause: Related settings are disabled by Manager under Settings Module > ShiftPlanning tab > Advanced Settings > Enable work units module

Solution: Ask your Manager to enable the settings to view the work units module as shown in Image 1.

“Not able to add work units values”

Possible Cause: Related settings are disabled by Manager under Settings Module > ShiftPlanning tab > Advanced Settings > Enable employees to add work units

Solution: Ask your Manager to enable the settings to let staff add work units as shown in Image 2.

“Not able to receive approval requests for work units”

Possible Cause: Related settings are disabled by Manager under Settings Module > ShiftPlanning tab > Advanced Settings >

  1. For Scheduler permission level: Work Units submitted by scheduler are auto-approved as shown in Image 3.

  1. For Employees permission level: Work Units submitted by an employee are auto-approved as shown in Image 4.

Solution: Ask your Manager to enable the settings to receive approval requests for work units as shown in Image 3 and Image 4.
 

“Not able to view work units report”

Possible Cause: Related settings are disabled by Manager under Settings Module > ShiftPlanning tab > Advanced Settings > Employees can see own Work Units Report

Solution: Ask your Manager to enable the settings to view the work units report as shown in Image 5.
