Overview

If you are having trouble using shift trade functionality, follow the steps in this article to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Objective

The objective of this tutorial is to show you how you can ask your Manager or resolve the possible issues you could face using shift trade.

Things to know before you begin:

  1. You must have a manager or admin access privileges to perform some troubleshooting steps in this article.
  2. If you have a Supervisor, Scheduler or an Employee level access, you’ll have to ask for help from your Manager when you get to those steps.

“Can’t view ‘Shift Trade’ option”

Possible Cause: Related settings are disabled by Manager under Settings Module > ShiftPlanning tab > Frequently Used >  Employees can trade shifts

Solution: Ask your Manager to enable the setting as shown in Image 1 to give you the access to view and use the Shift Trade Option.

“No co-workers available to trade the shift”

Possible Causes: Related settings are disabled by Manager under Settings Module > ShiftPlanning tab > Advanced:

  1. Employees can view all schedules        
  2. Employees can see shifts assigned to the staff of the same position

Solution: Ask your Manager to enable the settings as shown in Image 2, you will be able to view and trade shifts with your coworkers.

“Not able to view or trade shift with employees on the same day”

Possible Cause: Related setting is disabled by Manager under Settings Module > ShiftPlanning tab > Advanced > Allow same day trades.

Solution: Ask your Manager to enable the setting as shown in Image 3, once enabled you will be able to trade shift on the same day.

“Not able to view or trade shift with employees for different positions”

Possible Cause: Related setting is enabled by Manager under Settings Module > ShiftPlanning tab > Advanced > Disable shift trades between positions

Solution: Ask your Manager to disable/uncheck the box of the setting as shown in Image 4 so that you are able to either view or trade shift with employees for different positions.

“Not able to view overlapping shifts while trading”

Possible Cause: Related setting is enabled by Manager under Settings Module > ShiftPlanning tab > Advanced >  Do not show overlapping shifts in trades.

Solution: Ask your Manager to disable the setting as shown in Image 5, you will be able to view overlapping shifts in trade.
