The objective of this tutorial is to help you understand how you can approve or decline a leave request from your ShiftPlanning.
Access from your: Computer
Applies to: Managers, Supervisors and Schedulers.
When on ShiftPlanning, managers can now click on a leave slot to view the details of the leave slot and make changes to it accordingly. They can either Approve the request, Decline it or even Remove a past approved leave.
Things to know before you begin:
You must have scheduling permission privileges in Humanity to approve or decline any leave.
Leave Module should be enabled.
'Show Leave' must be checked from the filters on the left side in ShiftPlanning
You can view pending leave requests in ShiftPlanning only when 'Show pending leave requests on schedule' is ON.
Schedulers can approve/decline leave requests from ShiftPlanning only when 'Allow schedulers to see/approve past leave requests' is ON.
Remove already approved Leave slots
Scheduling roles are able to make changes on already approved leaves directly from the Schedule. Previously approved leave can be easily removed by following the steps below:
Step 1: Go to ShiftPlanning and click Leave Slot that has already been approved and then click Remove as shown in Image 1.
Step 2: Click 'OK' if you want to go ahead and proceed with the action or 'Cancel' if you want to discontinue as shown in Image 2.
Note: Managers can remove past approved leaves as well.
Decline/Approve Pending Leave Requests
When on ShiftPlanning, managers can now click on a leave slot to view the details on the leave and make changes to it accordingly.
Decline Leave Request
Step 1: Go to the ShiftPlanning module and click Leave Slot requested by employee(s) as shown in Image 3 to make changes to the leave requests.
Step 2: Click on the Vacation Slot/Leave Slot to open the pop-up box and preview all upcoming & past leaves of the selected user as shown in Image 4.
Step 3: You can decline a leave request according to your need as shown in Image 5.
Step 4: You may submit a note(optional) and click Decline again as shown in Image 6.
Approve Leave Request
Step 1: Click Leave Slot requested by employee(s) and then click Approve as shown in Image 7.
Note: When submitted leave requests overlaps with scheduled shifts of the requestor, you will see a conflict indicated with exclamation mark "!". By clicking on conflict icon, you can easily access the shift & make updates accordingly:
Step 2: To proceed with the action, click on 'Approve' again and add any additional notes if needed as shown in Image 8.
