Staffing Rules are a set of “rules” that the user will enter and the system will use to
calculate Required staff from the Metric imported.
Once the data is in the Humanity platform, the scheduling engine treats them as
constraints in the Auto Scheduling process, making the scheduling process that much
more seamless.
Things to know before you begin:
This feature is a part of the AI Scheduling paid add-on for Humanity Scheduling.
AI Scheduling is not available on the legacy ShiftPlanning module.
To access this feature, it needs to be previously enabled in the Team Tools Setting by Humanity's Support.
You must have Admin, Manager Supervisor, or Scheduler access privileges to access any AI Scheduling feature.

Census data
Patient acuity and dependency
Capacity
Staffing and safety protocols
Labor law regulations
Historical trends and patterns
Staff members’ availability, qualifications, and skills

Delete Existing Staffing Rule
Create New Staffing Rule
Step 1: Click the "New ShiftPlanning" tab located in the top panel, as shown in Image 1.

Step 2: Click on the "AI Scheduling" button located in the Toolbar > Select the "Metrics" option from the dropdown menu, as shown in Image 2.

Step 3: Click on the green "Create New Staffing Rule +" button, as shown in Image 3.

Note: Click on the "Learn More" button that has a lamp icon on it to read more about what Staffing Rules are, as shown in Image 4.

Step 4a: Type a name for your Staffing Rule in the input field located at the top of the pop-up screen > Choose the Position for which your rule will calculate staffing requirements > After that, you can click on a "Show Optional Parameters" button, as shown in Image 5.

Step 4b: These are additional Position parameters that you can set up:
Set working hours on a time picker
Set minimum and maximum staff level
Set a tolerance level for under- and overstaffing in %
Set staff rounding
> After that, you can click on a green "Next" button, as shown in Image 6.

Step 5a: Choose a Rule type (Ratio or a Range) > Choose the Metric to which the Rule will be applied > Type in your Ratio or Range > After that, you can click on a "Show Optional Parameters" button, as shown in Image 7.

Step 4b: These are additional Optional parameters that you can set up:
Set to what working hours Staffing Rule applies
Set Rule Weight (weight of attributes with respect to the label attribute)
> After that, finish the rule creation by clicking on a green "Create Staffing Rule" button, as shown in Image 8.

Edit Existing Staffing Rule
Step 1: Click on the edit icon located under the Actions section on the right side of the screen, as shown in Image 9.

Step 2: Implement the changes you want to enact > Click on the green "Save Changes" button, as shown in Image 10.

Delete Existing Staffing Rule
Step 1: Click on the delete icon located under the Actions section on the right side of the screen, as shown in Image 11.

Step 2: Click on the red "Delete" button located in the new pop-up screen, as shown in Image 12.
