Availability management - Android

Manage of Availability requests is now accessible via Android Humanity Mobile App starting from 3.1 App version.

Starting with the 3.1 Mobile Apps version, Admins, Managers, Supervisors & Schedulers are able to manage Availability requests of their employees on the go via Android Humanity mobile apps!


Access from your: Android device

Applies to: Admin/Managers, Supervisors, and Schedulers

Scheduling roles will now have a new layout of the Availability module, consisting of:

  1. Section "My": to add & preview your own Unavailability slots

  2. Section "Manage": to preview & manage Availability requests for your assigned staff.

Things to know before you begin:

  1. Availability module is enabled in account settings;

  2. You must have Manager/Admin, Supervisor, or Scheduler access privileges to access Manage section.

  3. “Availability must be approved by management” is enabled in account settings

  4. If you would like to allow Schedulers to approve employees’ requests, enable the “Allow Schedulers to approve availability” setting.

  5. Employees will be notified via email, SMS, or push notification once their requests are approved or declined.

The scenario outlined in this tutorial consists of the following building blocks:

  1. "My" section

  2. "Manage" section

  3. Availability Request Dashboard Widget

1. "My" Section

  • “My” section is replicating My Availability, where you'll be able to add & preview all of your Unavailability slots

  • Filters section enables choosing which type of Unavailability slots will be showed: Approved, Pending or Declined slots or the combination of the offered.

"Manage" Section

“Manage” section shows preview of the pending Availability requests that require Admin/Mangers/Supervisors/Schedulers action. Pending Availability requests list in Manage section represent the most important information of the Availability requests:

  • Requestors Name

  • Date & Time of the request submission

  • Requested date & time of the Unavailability slot

  • Symbols for:

    • Overnight (eg. Unavailability slot starting on July 5th at 9 PM and ends up on July 6th at 3 AM),

    • Repeating (if Unavailability slot occurs daily, weekly, monthly, etc),

    • Note (Requestor’s note for Manager)

  • In case you want to find specific request, there is an option to filter all Pending Availability requests:

    • Per Locations & Positions which scheduling role is managing and

    • To Sort requests by: Unavailability start date or Request Submission date

With the tap on “Filters”, Filters screen opens:

  • Default state of the filters: All locations & positions are selected & and requests are sorted by Unavailability start date

3. Availability Request Dashboard Widget

When a new Availability request is submitted, you would be informed via Availability Dashboard Request (Requests widget must be turned on). With the tap on Availability request notification, you'll be transferred to the Manage section from which you can check & manage requests:
