Objective
The objective of this tutorial is to help you understand stack overtime when you create rate cards under 'Weekly Card Overtime.'
Overview
Access from your: Computer
Applies to: Manager/Admin
Stack overtime is used when a scheduled/worked hour is a special hour but also is in daily/weekly OT.
If the Stack OT option is enabled, income for that hour(s) is calculated after applying both special and overtime rates. However, when Stack is unchecked, only OT rate is applied.
An hour which falls both in 'Overtime' and 'Special Hours', that particular hour will appear under the 'Overtime' column in the 'Payroll' report and the 'Rate of overtime' will be applied to that hour.
Special hour rate will not be applied to that hour, until the option 'Stack Overtime' is checked.
Note: Stacking is not for 'Daily Overtime + Weekly Overtime' but for 'Special + Overtime' (Whether daily or weekly).
Stack Overtime
Step 1: Click the 'Payroll' module from the top-panel > Click 'Payroll Settings' from the left-hand side > Click on the desired rate card > Check the box next to 'Stack Overtime' tab under Weekly Card Overtime as shown in Image 1.
Example:
If your staff member is scheduled from 8:00 am - 6:00 pm with Daily Overtime set to 8 hours and you also pay a special rate of 150% to staff who works after 5:00 pm.
In this case, the shift's last hour is in 'Daily Overtime' as well as the 'Special Hour'.
In such a situation, you can enable 'Stack Overtime' option if you want to pay that hour with both the rates applied or disable the stack if only daily overtime should be paid.
