Objective

The objective of this tutorial is to help you understand how you can troubleshoot to resolve if the time clock location is set up but employees are still able to clock in from mobile.

Overview

Access from your: Computer
Applies to: Managers/Admin

If the time clock location is set up but employees are still able to clock in from mobile, follow the steps in this article to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Things to know before you begin:

  1. You must have manager/admin access privileges to perform some troubleshooting steps in this article.

  2. If you have a Supervisor, Scheduler, or Employee level access, you’ll have to ask for help from your Manager when you get to those steps.

Possible Cause: Related setting "Lock time-clocking to specified locations" is disabled by the Manager.

Solution: Enable the settings under the 'Settings' module from 'Time Clock' section.

Managers must check the options next to the setting as per your business requirement. Follow the instructions in the article: 'Time Clock Options.'

Possible Cause: Manager has created a time clock location base on IP address. Any device that is connected to the Wi-Fi of that IP address would be able to clock in.

Solution: In order to avoid this, the manager would need to delete the time clock location that is based on IP address and make them computer-based.
