Learn how to customize and manage the notifications settings for your staff and yourself to receive them according to your requirements.

Objective

The objective of this tutorial is to help you understand how to customize & manage the notifications settings to receive them according to your business or individual requirements.

Overview

Applies to: Managers

Learn to customize or manage the notifications for your staff and yourself to receive them according to your business or individual requirements.

Things to know before you begin:

  1. You must have manager/admin access privileges to customize or manage settings under 'Settings'.

  2. If the staff has customized or restricted settings for receiving notifications under profile it will overwrite the global settings.

  3. There are three ways humanity sends a notification each time an action takes place: Email, SMS, and Mobile Push.

  4. If 'Force e-mail notifications' is enabled, you will receive all notifications even if you have disabled any type of notification under your profile.

The scenario outlined in this tutorial consists of the following building blocks:

Manage Notifications (Frequently Used)

Step 1: Go to Settings Module i.e. the gear icon at the top-right > Select Account tab from the left-hand side, as shown in Image 1.

Step 2: Check or uncheck the box next to any option listed below to enable or disable them as per your business requirement under Notifications section > Click Save Settings tab, as shown in Image 2.

Options:

  • Via e-mail: If checked, this is a global setting for notifications via e-mail.

  • Via SMS: If checked, this is a global setting for notifications via SMS.

  • Via Mobile Push: If checked, this is a global setting for notification via mobile push.
    Push notifications are available for "Humanity Mobile Applications for Android and iOS", enabling this is the best way to stay up to date with notification.

Manage Notifications (Advanced Settings)

Step 1: Go to Settings Module i.e. the gear icon at the top-right > Select Account tab from the left-hand side > Click Advanced Settings tab from the top, as shown in Image 3.

Step 2: Check or uncheck the box next to any option listed below to enable or disable them as per your business requirement under Notifications section > Click Save Settings tab, as shown in Image 4.

Options:

  • Force e-mail Notifications: If checked, it disallows staff to edit their e-mail notification settings - forcing them to receive them.

  • Birthday Notifications: If checked, birthday notifications will be received.

  • Birthday Card: If checked, humanity will send birthday cards to your staff according to their birth dates set under their profile.
