The objective of this tutorial is to help you understand how you can customize the approval process for shift trade or release.

Overview

 Managers can customize the approval process to make sure that they have an overview of every trade or release request in order to assess each request properly before approving or rejecting it.

Things to know before you begin:

  1. You must have a manager/admin access privileges in Humanity to customize the settings of the process for shift release or trade according to your business requirements.
  2. 'Employees can trade shifts' or 'Employees can release shifts' should be enabled to further customize the approval process for shift trade or release.

Customize Approval Process for Shift Trade or Release

Step 1: Click on the ‘Settings’ Module i.e. the gear icon at the top-right > Click 'ShiftPlanning' tab from the left-hand side > Click 'Advanced Settings' tab from the top as shown in Image 1.

Step 2: Enable ‘Manager must confirm shift trades and releases before requests are sent to other employees’ or Enable ‘Manager must confirm shift trades and releases after another employee request to pick it up’ by checking the box under Shift Pickup, Trades and Approvals section > Click 'Save Settings' as shown in Image 2.

That's it, Notifications will vary according to the way settings are defined.

Notes:

  1. Managers will be able to view the potential cover and make the decision of selecting by accepting or rejecting.
  2. Managers cannot change the potential cover selected by the employee, however, there is an alternative way to change the employee if the manager wants to.
