Objective

To provide a step-by-step walkthrough of how to set up unpaid breaks on a shift.

Overview

Access from your: Computer
Applies to: Managers, Schedulers, Employees with managing permissions over specific positions

Users can create unpaid lunch breaks in a few simple steps right from the ShiftPlanning module.

Things to know before you begin:

  1. You must have a Manager/Admin, and Scheduler account privileges to manage shift breaks.
  2. This option is not directly related to the Time Clock module. Therefore, employees still need to clock in and out of scheduled breaks using this module.
  3. Unpaid breaks will be deducted/effective and shown under Payroll.

Adding Unpaid Lunch Shift Breaks

Step 1: Go to “ShiftPlanning” tab in the top panel.
Step 2: Choose “Schedule Overview” from the left-hand side filter panel.

Step 3: Create a shift or click on an existing shift to open the Shift Edit window.

Step 4: Click the “Manage Breaks button” within the “Breaks” section of the Shift Edit window.

Step 5: Click on the timeline to designate a start time for the break. You will be prompted to determine the length of the break and define whether it is paid or unpaid.

Step 6: Save your defined breaks and click “Save & Close” to confirm all changes.
